All about VolleyBuzz

• What is VolleyBuzz?
  VolleyBuzz is an online community for coaches, athletes and parents involved in high school volleyball. All of the content on the site is organized in a way that targets each group individually, with the opportunity to interact in our forum.
• Is the site for boys or girls volleyball?
  It's actually for both, but there will naturally be a strong bias toward girls since it's more common than boys in many parts of the world.
• I have an idea for an article. Can I write for you?
  Send your ideas to us by way of our contact page.
• Why do you need my e-mail address?
  Our registration requires e-mail for a few reasons. First, it's a totally unique way to indentify you. Second, we send an activation code to your e-mail so you can begin using your account. We do this to deter spammers from automatically signing up for accounts and posting advertisements.
• I forgot my password!

Gold Medal Membership

• What is a Gold Medal Membership?
  It's a premium service that gives the subscriber extra features. First, a Gold Medal member gets to enjoy the site advertising-free. They will see no ads, which makes the site a lot more responsive. Second, they have access to a blog (short for Web log, or online journal). These members can keep a journal and post about anything they want, and share it with the world.
• How much does it cost?
  A Gold Medal Membership is only $12 per year. That works out to be a dollar a month, and some of that money goes toward the creation of new content.
• Is subscribing with my credit card safe?
  Yes. You'll notice when you visit the order form that a little padlock icon will appear somewhere on you Web browser, indicating a secure connection.
• Why do you need my e-mail address?
  Your e-mail is used as the unique identifier for your account on VolleyBuzz. It can't be seen by anyone other than site administrators, and it will not be sold.
• Do you store credit card information in your system?
  No. We pass along the number to our third-party authorizing company, but keep no record of it on our system.
• Can I change the title of my blog?
  Yes. Click "your account" in the upper right of any page. You'll have additional options listed on that page, including the title, subtitle and style.
• I don't like the way my blog looks. Can I change it?
  Yes. The settings are shown in a drop-down list on the "your account" page.
  
• How do I know when my membership expires?
  Your expiration date is also shown on the "your account" page.

Using the forum

• Why are you so particular about spelling and grammar?
  It has been our experience in running other online communities that requiring proper spelling and grammar (i.e., no chat shorthand) results in more quality discussion, a more positive perception of the community, and it generally makes it easier to read.
• Where did my post go?
  Our moderators delete anything that violates the terms of service. Generally the moderator will let the person know if it's something that was questionable, but not if it's something that becomes a habit (i.e., spamming site URL's, disregard for grammar, etc.).
• How do I make bold and italics? Links?
  If you're using Internet Explorer on Windows, there are little tool bar buttons above the post box that allow you to create this formatting in much the same way you would in Word. On other browsers, you can use the standard "forum code" found in many other forums.
